"Scream 4" may not have been filmed in Pittsburgh, but there is still a piece of the Steel City in it. Actress Courteney Cox wears jewelry designed by a former Pittsburgh resident, Barbara Plunkett Boz. She currently resides in a northern suburb of Detroit.

After seeing a display of Ms. Boz's jewelry line, Barbara Boz for StyleNaturale, in a Los Angeles boutique, the film's celebrity stylist immediately called the designer, wanting to see more. Learning that the film was being produced in Ann Arbor, Mich., not too far from Ms. Boz's residence, the stylist arranged a meeting in the film's production office in Michigan. She carefully selected 35 of Ms. Boz's pieces to include in Ms. Cox's wardrobe.

"Knowing that the stylist could choose from thousands of jewelry brands, I'm thrilled and honored that she chose my collection," says Ms. Boz.

Barbara Boz for StyleNaturale was launched in April 2006 after Ms. Boz had worked 20 years as commercial interior designer. She attended La Roche College in McCandless, where she received a bachelor's degree in interior design. She says her experience and education strengthened her orientation toward creating beautiful things that function well. Along with her appreciation for lasting style, Ms. Boz decided to create a jewelry line because the craftsmanship of jewelry encompasses all of her passions -- style, elegant form, comfort, honest materials, clean lines and a systematic approach to making things work in the long haul.

"The most rewarding part is watching a woman try on my pieces," says Ms. Boz. "I love seeing how my jewelry can transform how a woman feels about herself as she walks with a new kick in her step!"

Designing her collection from her home studio, Ms. Boz controls all design stages. Each element is carved, edited and finalized. Then, each style is sampled for approval before turning it over to her production partner, who produces the collection at a large scale. When developing her jewelry line, Ms. Boz creates pieces with the idea of a woman's busy lifestyle. Every piece in the collection is designed with versatility in mind, offering women the flexibility to wear the pieces in numerous ways.

"Life is busy," says Ms. Boz. "Jewelry must move from the office to evening, from event to casual to travel."

Named as one of Accessories Magazine's top 10 up-and-coming jewelry designers in 2009, Ms. Boz's hometown is Blairsville, Indiana County, and she lived in Shadyside, South Side and Monroeville before moving to Michigan in the late 1980s. But she remains a Pittsburgher at heart. She misses the mix of ethnicities, the Carnegie Museum of Art, the parks, the brick roads, and, most of all, she misses the people.

"Most importantly, I miss the feeling of citizenship that exists in Pittsburgh," she says. "The people care about their city." Oh and of course, she misses the Steelers and Penguins, too!

Necklaces, bracelets and earrings in the Barbara Boz for StyleNaturale collection range from $40 to $450 and can be found in more than 350 boutiques across the United States, the Caribbean, Canada and abroad. In addition, pieces have been featured on "The Oprah Winfrey Show"; on the cover of O, the Oprah Magazine; and in the pages of Lucky, Latina and more.
