CapCon 220's raceway construction crew drew a truckload of entries related to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (click on second image above to see cartoon), known and loved locally as PennDOT. Caption writer extraordinaire Dave Hatfield of Marshall took the checkered flag for the third time this year, and seventh overall, and the judges doubly honored him by giving him a third-place medal for another entry. Now let's everyone get out of bed and give CapCon 221's unusual sleeping arrangements a try.
Send up to three entries to page2@post-gazette.com or mail to: Caption Contest/Portfolio, Post-Gazette, 34 Blvd. of the Allies, Pittsburgh PA 15222. Please include name and address and identify your municipality or Pittsburgh city neighborhood. Deadline: Oct. 21. Winners receive a PG umbrella, somehow still available despite the government shutdown.
