Gatesman+Dave hired Lauren Hushen as account executive and Lauren Pavlakovich as senior digital program manager.


Thomas Matesich has joined U.S. Bank Commercial Real Estate as market manager for Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

Allegheny Valley Bank hired Jeffrey A. Martin, senior vice president, commercial lending officer, and F. Thomas Gongloff, vice president, commercial lending officer.

John Kline was senior vice president, commercial lending at S&T Bank.

First Niagara Financial Group named David G. Hammer to serve as the bank's southwestern Pennsylvania market executive, responsible for managing the bank's sales activities across multiple business segments including commercial and business banking, retail, insurance, wealth management and commercial real estate.


Kaitlin Roth joined WordWrite Communications as a summer intern.

Mindful Kreative hired Amy Meyers as director of media.

Robert Morris University named Renee T. Cavalovitch vice president, general counsel and secretary to the Board of Trustees, effective July 1.


Westinghouse Electric Co. appointed Mark Marano, president, Americas region, and Douglas Weaver, vice president, nuclear regulatory affairs.


Cyril H. Wecht was appointed as both a member of the board of governors, and professor of pathology, forensic medicine, health care management, and health law in the recently established American University of Sovereign Nations School of Medicine in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Ahmed E. Badr, was named chair of the department of anesthesiology for West Penn Allegheny Health System.


Christine Bryant was appointed head, commercial operations, for Bayer MaterialScience LLC's Coatings, Adhesives & Specialties business unit for the NAFTA region.


Cindy Spencer and Eric Allen were named to the board at the Auberle. Ms. Spencer is chief financial officer, BNY Mellon and Mr. Allen is chief of police/director of public safety, Thiel College Police Department. Also, Susan Baker Shipley, president, Western Pennsylvania and Ohio Valley region, Huntington Bank, was named to the Pauline Auberle Foundation board of directors.

Family House named Bob Howard, executive director.

Tim Reeves, CEO, Neiman, was elected to the Council (board of directors) of the Pennsylvania Society.

The Forbes Funds announced that McCrae Martino was promoted to vice president, overseeing the organization's grant-making initiatives, and Garrett Cooper has joined as enterprise manager.


Daniel P. Siewiorek was named director of the Quality of Life Technology Center, a National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center. Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh are partners in the center, which focuses on creating intelligent systems that improve the quality of life for everyone while enabling older adults and people with disabilities.

Awards and Honors

Autumn Edmiston, CEO, Edmiston Group, has completed certification and training to become an Accredited Constant Contact Solution Provider.

The National Association of Water Companies, Pennsylvania Chapter, recognized Erik A. Ross with its James McGirr Kelly Award for Excellence. The James McGirr Kelly Award for Excellence is the highest honor bestowed by NAWC. The industry association presents the award each year to a resident of Pennsylvania who most exemplifies dedication to promoting the availability of safe drinking water in the commonwealth. Mr. Ross serves as a senior lobbyist at Gmerek Government Relations Inc.

Ashley Smith, hyperbaric oxygen coordinator, Excela Health Advanced Wound Center, is newly certified as a hyperbaric oxygen technologist. The credential was awarded following 480 hours of hyperbaric medicine clinical practice as well as the successful completion of a rigorous national examination. Certification comes from the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology.
