Cybertainment: Netpage app lets you share magazine content

Cybertainment: Netpage app lets you share magazine content

Now there's a smartphone and tablet app for readers who enjoy print magazines but who want to be able to share content with others as online readers do.

Netpage gives readers the best of the print and digital worlds by turning print media into an interactive experience like the one of reading online.

The Netpage app is launching with the December issue of Esquire. All future Esquire issues will be Netpage-enabled, and Esquire publisher Hearst plans to add other titles in 2013.

Just point the iPhone or iPad at a page and tap the screen to get a high resolution digital clipping of the pages you want to save. Readers can clip, save and share digital versions of articles, ads and photos, and buy some items directly from the page. They can save an article to read later on their iPhone or post something they like on Pinterest boards. And they can share what they read through emails or text messages and on their social networks.

There is also enhanced content. For example, readers can use the Netpage app to scan Equire's December cover and watch an exclusive video of Bradley Cooper.

The iTunes app is free.
