Can Penn State go undefeated in October?

Penn State football Q&A with Ron Musselman

Q: The schedule in October is brutal. I see the Lions losing at least one of those games -- Ohio State or Wisconsin. Like last season, nothing is predictable or certain. Penn State was not in the top 10 mix last season. Now they're in the top 10, where upsets are lurking. Do you think they have a shot at going undefeated in October? David Gallagher, Jamestown, Ohio MUSSELMAN: David, anything is possible, of course. But honestly, I do not see Penn State getting through the month of October undefeated. The Lions play at Wisconsin and Ohio State and they have not been very good against those two teams, particularly on the road. In fact, Penn State has had all kind of trouble winning Big Ten games away from home the last eight years, going 12-20. The Lions also are 0-10 against ranked teams on the road since beating Wisconsin in 2002. That does not bode well.
