Regarding the Affordable Care Act and Republicans: On Saturday, Mitch McConnell, the Senate majority leader, said there will be a delay in the changing of the law as Republicans try to come up with an alternative.
Let me try to understand this. They have voted more than 60 times to repeal the ACA. They wasted all of that time in the House and Senate, and they don’t have an alternative plan yet? What have they been doing? Oh, that’s right, they have been denying anything President Barack Obama has wanted to do. They refused to compromise.
Now, their expectation is that Democrats should work with them and coordinate compromise with them.
The Republicans have control of all three branches. Democrats should work to block everything they can, using any measure in the laws they can find. Democrats should finally stand up for what they believe. Even though they will lose the vote, they should have a backbone and take a stand! They probably won’t because they actually believe in the foundations of our government. The Republicans certainly do not.
