A sport utility vehicle's collision with a Greyhound bus on the Parkway West ramp to Interstate 79 early yesterday injured the SUV's driver and at least five bus passengers.
State police said the motorist, Michael Kuzo, 26, of Oakdale, suffered the most serious injuries from the 4 a.m. collision. He had been driving at high speed on the parkway and swerved and struck the rear of the bus on the exit ramp, according to the police report.
The SUV rolled over several times, and emergency crews had to extract Mr. Kuzo from his vehicle, police said. He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was in critical condition yesterday.
The bus had left Downtown a short time before the accident on the Pittsburgh-to-Columbus, Ohio, leg of a New York-to-St. Louis itinerary.
Police said five passengers suffered minor injuries.
