Program on aging planned for Sept.18

WQED Pittsburgh and The Press Club of Western Pennsylvania will sponsor a luncheon program at noon Sept. 18 featuring William D. Novelli, former CEO of AARP and a Pittsburgh native.

Mr. Novelli, co-founder and former president of public relations agency Porter Novelli, will speak on the benefits of remaining active as we get older, how to accomplish this and what it means for seniors in the future. He will also talk about how older adults are presented in the media, changing the face of AARP and health-care policies.

Guests will also view a portion of the American Public Television production "Do Not Go Gently," about the power of imagination in aging, scheduled to air Sept. 25 at 10 p.m. on WQED-TV (13.1 digital). See more information at www.donotgogently.com.

The program will be held at the Engineers Society of Western Pennsylvania, 337 Fourth Ave., Downtown. Cost is $20 for Press Club members and $25 for nonmembers payable by check to The Press Club of Western Pennsylvania. Tables of 10 may be reserved for $200.
