Erie man killed in crash

An Erie County man was killed yesterday when the car in which he was riding crashed in Harborcreek, state police said.

Jeffrey A. Lencki, 21, of North East, had been riding in a car driven by Frank R. Stewart, 24, also of North East.

Mr. Stewart, who had been traveling east on Belle Road, lost control on a bend at 11:47 p.m., police said.

The car struck a ditch, went airborne for about 100 feet and landed on its left side in another ditch.

The vehicle then rolled several times before it slammed into a tree and landed on its roof, police said.

Mr. Lencki was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled over.
