The federal government’s Adminstration for Community Living is trying to make it easier for older adults and their caregivers to access helpful information on various programs and services.
The agency has redesigned its website known as Eldercare Locator, which provides wide-ranging resource information.
When you type in a zip code now, the website highlights a number of local agencies that can offer nearby help. Its Caregiver Corner offers answers and links for the most commonly asked questions from caregivers seeking support. A “Learn More About” section serves as a guide to useful information about housing, health, insurance, transportation, legal rights, prevention of abuse and more.
The site also highlights a phone number, 800-677-1116, that anyone can call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. to ask questions and receive support over the phone.
