Steelers Make Some Lists, Good & Bad

Steelers Make Some Lists, Good & Bad

Good morning,

We’re not normally a fan of lists here, but a few caught our eye recently so we’re going to call this Link Friday.

We start with one that rates the most successful sports cities based on their pro teams’ achievements. It is from the New York Times and it puts Boston and Pittsburgh 1-2.

--- Next is an opinion piece by Pittsburgh native Dave Dameshek on NFL.com ranking his top triplets for the 2015 season. He places Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown No. 1 and in his top 16 all-time triplets in the Super Bowl era, he ranks No. 3 the Steelers’ Terry Bradshaw, Franco Harris and Lynn Swann No. 3.

--- NFL.com also ranks the five worst defensive groups in the NFL and – surprise! – the Steelers did not make it. The groups include safety, cornerback, linebacker, defensive line in a 3-4 and defensive line in a 4-3. The Steelers did receive an honorable mention for worst cornerback group and 3-4 defensive line.

--- Finally, NFL.com again has a ranking (it is a slow time of year for them too) of the five worst draft classes of the past 25 years, overall not by team.
