ST. LOUIS -- The Pirates on Thursday recalled outfielder Jaff Decker from Class AAA Indianapolis and optioned right-hander Brandon Cumpton to Indianapolis.

The Pirates can carry an extra bench player because Francisco Liriano will come off the disabled list to start Sunday‘s game. Decker also provides an extra outfielder while Starling Marte is on the bereavement list.
