In need of fresh arms in the bullpen, the Pirates called up right-hander Vin Mazzaro from Class AAA Indianapolis today and optioned right-hander Bryan Morris to Indianapolis.

Morris pitched three innings Monday night and early exits by Pirates starters have taxed the bullpen.

Mazzaro struck out nine in seven innings during three appearances with Indianapolis this season.
