Pirates announce spring training broadcast schedule

The Pirates will have five of their spring training games televised locally this year, the team announced this morning.

The team will also have 15 games aired on KDKA-FM 93.7 The Fan, the team's radio partner. 

Games against the Boston Red Sox on March 1, the Baltimore Orioles on March 8, the Minnesota Twins on March 9, the Red Sox on March 23 and the Orioles on March 24 will be televised on Root Sports.

Most other games will be webcast at Pirates.com.

The Pirates begin Grapefruit League games Feb. 23 against the Tampa Bay Rays. The team will open the regular season April 1 against the Chicago Cubs at PNC Park.
