King’s Ransom For Richard Gere’s $65M Long Island Estate
Judging by his sumptuous six-acre estate on the east end of Long Island, Richard Gere has come an awfully long way from his days as an “American Gigolo.” The spread is fit for a king – except that King Richard has had enough.
The 63-year-old actor has listed the private, waterfront preserve in North Haven for a whopping $65 million, meaning it will take a Wall Street “Arbitrage” wheeler-dealer or some other similarly deep-pocketed buyer to forego the ocean-side Hamptons and settle on Gere’s north shore estate.
The 12,000-square-foot, 12-bedroom, 12-bath mansion is situated between toney but still down homey Sag Harbor and Shelter Island. The estate is bolstered by sprawling lawns, gardens, swimming pool and an outdoor pavilion – all of it with commanding views of Long Island’s shimmering bays and marshes.
The 1902 main home is called Strongheart Manor and boasts an elegant, vintage décor with all the modern furnishes. The property also includes three additional and separate lots that hold two additional guesthouses.
McGraw, Hill Have Faith Tennessee Estate – Will Sell
Maybe it was their stint in Las Vegas that’s prompted Tim McGraw and Faith Hill to cut loose some of the Tennessee real estate holdings. The husband and wife entertainers have listed their 753-acre property in Franklin on the market for $20 million.
Bought back in 2001 for $8.75 million, the estate was previously owned by Hank Williams Jr. and comes with four residences, a 12-stall horse barn and a caretaker’s apartment.
Ryan Reynolds Re-Lists Bachelor Pad
The fabulous Mr. Blake Lively still owns the 1,700-square-foot, 2-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home he bought back before he was briefly married to Scarlett Johansson. But between the divorce, the new marriage, the economic downturn and several other houses in between, Ryan Reynolds is trying for a third time to unload his Hollywood Hills pad.
The price has been reduced from $1.69 million to $1.599 million for the house at 2416 Carman Crest Drive in Los Angeles.
While the real estate sale has been frustratingly slow in materializing, at least Reynolds and his new wife, Blake Lively, have moved onto greener and happier pastures. The pair bought a home in Bedford, NY, where East Coast living appeals to Reynolds new starlet wife.
Destiny’s Child Isn’t Going To Be In Los Feliz For Jeff Lewis, Apparently
There’s no mystery as to why Jeff Lewis hosts a hit show on Bravo TV called “Flipping Out.” The ever-acerbic and camera-hungry designer has never met a house he hasn’t wanted to flip – including the grand manse he bought not once, but twice, in Los Feliz.
After spending an entire year remodeling the home, which was widely featured on last season’s episodes, Lewis has once again decided to sell the 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom, 3,730-square-foot home located at 1946 N Gramercy Pl in Los Angeles for $3.195 million.
Built and designed in 1937 by legendary architect Wallace Neff, Lewis purchased the gated pad for the first time in 2004 for $1.265 million before getting an offer he could not refuse and selling in it in 2006 for $2.795 million. Regretting the sale, Lewis got to buy it back in 2011 for $1.625 million, and promptly set about making it a dream house for himself and partner Gage Edward, including plans for it to house their future kids.
But after decking the place out with wow-factor upgrades, the notoriously flip-flopping Lewis is once again looking to part company again with the house.
