This week's "American Idol" race is close, with the top three singers within 1 million votes of each other (out of a whopping 51 million votes), but finally America gets it right -- Jason Castro is eliminated. The dreadlocked singer blames his inexperience for forgetting the lyrics this week, but I think the flaky kid is just as surprised as America that he made it to the top four. When host Ryan Seacrest breaks the bad news, Jason never stops smiling. Seacrest asks if he's relieved, and Jason mumbles, "Uh, a little. There's three songs next week -- I don't know what I would have done!"
I'd love to see Bridgeport-born Syesha Mercado in the final two, but my bets are still on David Archuleta and David Cook, with Cook taking home the prize.
"Idol" airs Tuesday at 8 and Wednesday at 9 p.m. on Fox.
Mario waltzes and jives his way off the dance floor this week on "Dancing with the Stars." The series' youngest competitor at 21, the R&B singer lands in the middle of the five-couple pack by the judges' standards, but the viewer votes aren't enough to keep him in the competition. The other couple in the bottom two isn't revealed, although I'm shocked Jason Taylor is second to last in the judges' scoring. Cristian de la Fuente -- aka "the man with the golden arm" according to judge Bruno Tonioli -- scores the highest this week, despite his injury. He's suddenly a frontrunner as they dance into the semifinals.
"Dancing" airs Monday at 8 and Tuesday at 9 p.m. on ABC.
On "The Hills," Lauren and Lo ditch roomie Audrina at Alkaline Trio's recording session for a trip to the conveyor belt sushi place. Then they adopt a puppy and Lo mentions "Chloe" has two mommies, and we all know one of them isn't Audrina. Meanwhile, Heidi jets off to Vegas for work, leaving Spencer wondering where his ex went. Scenes from the finale show crazy Spen surprising an agitated Heidi in Sin City and Audrina contfronting Lauren about intrusive Lo.
"The Hills" airs Monday at 10 p.m., with a live aftershow at 11 on MTV.
On "Flavor of Love 3," Flav takes his final three ladies to the "romantical" Cannes, France. Nasty Sinceer rats out Black for being jealous, who in turn calls out Seezinz for thinking she's around just for TV drama. Flav thinks he made a mistake picking Seezinz, so her time is up. Still upset over dumping Thing 2 a week earlier, he brings her back into the competition, and I think she's a sure bet to win.
"Flavor of Love" airs Monday at 9 p.m. on VH1.
... is Kim Kardashian on "Keeping up with the Kardashians." Cranky Kim can't stop arguing with her sisters while on a snowboarding family vacation. Then mom Kris tells Kim to stop using her Sidekick, so Kim throws her mom's BlackBerry and breaks it, then retreats to her room to cry. While her family's dogsledding, she packs her bags to head home to L.A., but when she realizes she'd have to ride the bus since her Bentley's at home, she opts to reconcile with the rest of her spoiled family.
"Kardashians" airs Sunday at 10 p.m. on E!
