Steve Dines, better known as "Bridal Man" on the airwaves, is launching his own weekly advice/ talk show.

The show will air live on talk station WURP-AM (1550)/"The Edge" Saturdays from noon to 1 p.m., starting this weekend.

The program is designed to help brides and bridegrooms plan their weddings. Dines and co-host Teri Russo will interview experts in wedding planning and take calls. A "Wedding Day Warriors" segment will feature calls from wedding guests on the scene at area weddings.

A television version of the program will air on PCNC starting Jan. 25, running Sundays at 11:30 a.m. and repeating Mondays at 7:30 p.m.

Dines, a veteran of the bridal industry for 15 years, has been offering wedding planning advice as a regular weekly guest on Lynn Cullen's show on WPTT-AM (1360) in recent months.

Holiday broadcast

WQED-FM (89.3) will carry a live broadcast of Carnegie Mellon's annual holiday concert tomorrow, starting at noon. It will also be streamed on the Web at www.wqed.org.

Robert Page will conduct the Carnegie Mellon Concert Choir, Carnegie Mellon Repertory Chorus and Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic in a program of traditional and classical Christmas music.

The concert is free, and will be held in the College of Fine Arts Great Hall.

A Met premiere

The "ChevronTexaco Metropolitan Opera" broadcast season starts with a three-hour season preview on Saturday. Regular broadcasts begin Dec. 13, with the broadcast of a Met premiere -- Fromental Halevy's "La Juive." Other season highlights include the complete Wagner Ring Cycle in March and April.

The preview includes recorded performances by Met artists past and present, along with interviews and features.

"ChevronTexaco Metropolitan Opera" airs locally on WQED-FM (89.3) Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. through April 24. The Dec. 13 performance of "La Juive" starts at 1 p.m.

A new Internet broadcast program on health-care issues debuting tomorrow is hosted by a local expert on the topic -- Paul Umbach, president and CEO of Tripp Umbach Healthcare Consulting.

The program is aimed at helping businesses improve employee health care, and will deal with topics such as health-care reform costs.

"The National Health Forum" will air on Internet station Business America Radio, starting tomorrow. Broadcast times are Friday at 1 p.m., with rebroadcasts at 1 a.m. Saturday.
