![]() 'Guardian' uses Pittsburghese in tonight's episode Tuesday, November 04, 2003 By Rob Owen, Post-Gazette TV Editor
For only the second time in three seasons, a bit of authentic Pittsburghese can be heard in tonight's episode of CBS's Pittsburgh-set legal drama "The Guardian" (9 p.m.).
Series creator David Hollander said he wrote the episode with fellow Pittsburgh native Tom Smuts and they cracked each other up using Pittsburghese.
"We put it into the script and took extra time with the actors to teach them how to do it," Hollander wrote in an e-mail.
Listen carefully for a "yinz guys" and an "n'at."
The episode also features an adoption day at the show's fictional law firm. The show's technical adviser, KidsVoice executive director Scott Hollander, said a similar event will take place in Pittsburgh Nov. 22, National Adoption Day, with local law firm Reed Smith participating.
