![]() 'Joe Schmo Show' watch Saturday, October 04, 2003 By Rob Owen, Post-Gazette TV Editor
Regardless of Spike TV's attempts to humiliate Mt. Lebanon's Matt Kennedy Gould on "The Joe Schmo Show" -- only Gould doesn't know it's a fake reality show and the other "contestants" are actually actors -- the guy comes off as the nicest, most sincere reality show character in the genre's brief history.
He's compulsively honest and good-hearted, and in an upcoming episode even admits one of his favorite films is "Terms of Endearment."
Some viewers have been incredulous that Gould hasn't caught onto the over-the-top nature of "Lap of Luxury," the show he thinks he's starring in. But in the penultimate episode, airing Oct. 14, Gould surprises the cast with some of his comments ("I don't know what's real and what's not anymore").
The two-hour series finale, in which Gould discovers he's been had, will air Oct. 28.
