Hearst promotes WTAE general manager

Hearst Television, which owns Pittsburgh's WTAE, has promoted Michael Hayes, Channel 4's general manager, to senior vice president and group head of Hearst Television effective June 1.

Mr. Hayes will share oversight responsibilities for the company's 29 TV stations with Frank Biancuzzo, who is also a senior vice president and group head.

Mr. Hayes, who has been general manager at WTAE since March 2011, will relocate to the Hearst Television headquarters in New York. His successor at Channel 4 will be named at a later time.

WPXI's new hire

Channel 11 has hired a new reporter, Joe Holden, of WBRE in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton market, where he was an investigative reporter.

Mr. Holden will be a general assignment reporter at Channel 11 when he begins working at the station in late June.
