Mike Webster
Nobody better at center, anywhere, anytime any team. God bless you Web
-Dana Niedergall
My favorite Steeler of all time is Iron Mike Webster. The dedication and true grit of a mans man made him a role model for any kid. I wore his number 52(which should be retired) when playing pop warner football. Although I never played ball in high school his work ethic has followed me throughout the years. He was the first at practice and the last to leave never missing a game. He died with his personal dignity intact, not asking for handouts or help from anyone. The Steelers should have done more for Webby, even though he did pass up a coaching job offered to go on playing the sport he loved. He gave new meaning to the phrase NO PAIN NO GAIN. In the end paying for it with his life. He gave it all. When GOD made IRON MIKE he broke the mold.

Lynn Swann
Lynn Swann! He was behind me in the checkout line at Foodland one time when I was grocery shopping and he was polite and friendly to everyone there. During a playoff (or wildcard) game I attended, I watched him jump up in the air to catch a touchdown pass and he literally "flew" over 3 Chryslers that were parked on display off to the side of the end zone. I thought for sure when he landed he may have broken his back, but he got up and sprinted back into the playing field like it was nothing. He was, by far, one of the best Steelers ever!

I AM A PITTSBURGH NATIVE AND I FIND IT VERY HARD TO LIMIT MY STEELER GREATS TO ONE PERSON, I MEAN LOOK AT THE LIST BLEIER, HAM, GREENWOOD, GREENE, WHY WOULD I NOW HAVE A SENIOR MOMENT AND ALL THE NAMES HAVE SCATTERED!
THE ONE THAT STANDS OUT THE MOST WOULD BE NO# 88 LYNN SWANN--I'M LUCKY ENOUGH TO OWN HIS THROW BACK JERSEY AND EVERY TIME MY SON OR I WEAR IT MOST MEN ASK, "WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT NO# 88? MY NICE RESPONSE IS "ALL THAT I NEED TO KNOW!"
-Reola Buckins
Mel Blount
He was so dominating they had to change the rules.
-William Flynn
He just epitomizes what the Steelers are. Tough, gritty, hard-hitting, physical and intimidating football.
-Robert K. Webster Sr.
Louis Lipps
My favorite Steeler was Lou Lipps. Underrated in the long history of the Steeler receivers but just as tough and talented as any of them.
-Audrey S.
Ok, this is a toughy. I was born in '74, so the "great teams" of the '70's are a little fuzzy. Was always a Lambert fan as a kid, then shortly thereafter, was a Huge Louie Lipps fan. Then came Woodson, then came Kirkland, then came Porter, and now it's Woodley. Tough to narrow it down to one all time fave, but if I had to pick one, I'd hve to say Louie Lipps. Probably the most physically gifted receiver I've ever seen in the black and gold. Long winded answer, I know, but there are even more I can throw in there. Lipps is it.

John Henry Johnson/Ernie Stautner
I think that my favorite would be a tie between John Henry Johnson and
Ernie Stautner.

Jack Butler
My favorite Steeler of all time: JACK BUTLER. 62 take-aways (52 interceptions / 10 fumble recoveries) in about 100 games. Hard to believe - NO ONE in the league's history can match that.
Almost 60 years in the National Football League as a player, coach, scout, and as the original Director of BLESTO - the first scouting combine in the league. Why no Hall of Fame nominations? This guy should have been in 20 years ago. Who are the Pittsburgh sports writers nominating? There would be no league and these guys would be doing something else for a living if it weren't for guys like JACK BUTLER.

Chuck Knoll
Chuck Knoll is my favorite because he changed the soul of the Steelers to what they are today. His vision of how to play football is still the way the Steelers play today and he has set the standard for all Steeler coaches. His “What ever it takes” philosophy has stuck with me all my life too as an inspiration and motivation. He is the best!
-Ron Himler
Rod Woodson
He's one of the best defensive backs in the history of the game and he was successful everywhere he went.
-Nick Fruscello
Sam Davis
I have so many favorites over the years but I have to name my first favorite as my overall favorite. Sam Davis…Number 57…offensive guard back in the days of Terrie Bradshaw….Sam made good things happen….and played on all four of the early super bowl victories.
-Brenda Easter
Levon Kirkland
Levon Kirkland, no doubt
