The Steelers are close to re-signing left guard Ramon Foster, keeping him from becoming an unrestricted free agent, a team source told the Post-Gazette.
Foster's signing would ease some concern because the Steelers have little depth on the offensive line to replace him.
Foster would be the second free-agent starter to be re-signed before free agency begins Wednesday. Cornerback William Gay signed a three-year contract earlier in the day.
It also means the Steelers would have four of their five starters on the offensive line under contract.
