The Steelers have signed veteran guard/center Cody Wallace, formerly of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and released guard John Malecki.

Wallace, 28, was a fourth-round draft choice of the San Francisco 49ers in 2008 who has appeared in nine NFL games -- eight with Tampa Bay in 2012. He has never started an NFL game.

Wallace also spent time on the practice squad with the Detroit Lions, New York Jets and Houston Texans, but never appeared in a game with them. He was among Tampa Bay's final cuts.

Malecki, who played at Pitt, spent six week on the Steelers' active roster last season, appearing in one game.
