Question: Do you think that there was a little bit of "sour grapes" and second thoughts in Bill Cowher's prediction of the Steelers third place finish this year - or is it as Hines commented -- Cowher's way of motivating the team?

BOUCHETTE: You mean Bill Cowher, Raleigh, N.C. (Crafton, PA)? Actually, I believe it was his honest opinion. It's not as if he's in the minority. Plenty of people are picking the Steelers to finish behind Baltimore and Cincinnati in the division. Cowher, in his new job with CBS, might have lost credibility with his viewers had he predicted the Steelers to finish first. At the same time, he gave his old team some props, said they were good and would challenge. And, yes, as Ward and others have suggested, it might be his final nod toward motivating his former team, which seemed to thrive in the us-against-the-world mentality that so many athletes today seem to yearn yet at the same time take it out on those who don't give them the r-e-s-p-e-c-t they also desire. After all, the Steelers did not exactly tear it up once they reached the pinnacle, did they?
