Brooks, a 6-foot-2, 240-pound inside linebacker with a four-star rating from Rivals.com, also had offers from LSU, Michigan and Notre Dame, among others. He’s headed to Penn State from Benedictine High School in Richmond, Va., where he was ranked the No. 8 player in the state. Rivals considers him the No. 6 inside linebacker in the country.
“I would like to thank my Lord and Savior for the opportunity to play at a place that has been my dream school for as long as I can remember!!” Brooks tweeted.
It should only have to be a verbal commitment for less than 48 hours for Brooks, with National Signing Day coming up Wednesday. With the addition, Penn State now has nine four-star recruits in its 2017 class and one five-star recruit, Clairton’s Lamont Wade.
