Opening day

* PNC Park gates will open at 11 a.m. Monday and the pregame events begin at 12:30 p.m.

* Fastrax, a professional parachute team, will open the season by skydiving into PNC Park.

* Former Pirates Barry Bonds and Dick Groat will present the 2013 NL MVP award to Andrew McCutchen; former Pirates manager Jim Leyland will present the 2013 manager of the year award to Clint Hurdle; ex-Pirates shortstop Jack Wilson will present Silver Slugger awards to Pedro Alvarez and McCutchen. Francisco Liriano will be recognized as the 2013 NL comeback player of the year.

* PNC Bank will present a donation to the Pittsburgh Police K-9 Protective Vest Fund, and Officer Phil Lerza, whose K-9 partner Rocco was killed in January, will throw out a ceremonial pitch.

* A moment of silence will be observed for former Pirates who passed away in the past year. Scott Kiner, son of the Ralph Kiner, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
