Penguins recall two players from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

The Penguins recalled forward Brian Gibbons and defenseman Simon Despres from their American Hockey League farm team in Wilkes-Barre.

Gibbons, 25, has appeared in 19 NHL games this season, scoring four goals with five assists and nine points. He scored his first NHL goal in his debut Nov. 18 against the Anaheim Ducks at Consol Energy Center.

Despres, 22, joins the Penguins for his second stint this season in the NHL. Earlier this year, Despres had four assists and averaged 17:54 minutes in 18 games with the Penguins.
