Malkin will sit out the Penguins' next two games

NEW YORK -- Penguins center Evgeni Malkin will sit out at least the next two games, coach Dan Bylsma said today.

Malkin got an unspecified injury in the third period of the Penguins' 4-1 victory in Detroit last Saturday.

Bylsma said Malkin, who did not accompany the team to New York for its game against the Rangers tonight, skated in Pittsburgh today.

Malkin's right winger, James Neal, will complete a five-game suspension tonight and will rejoin the lineup when Minnesota visits Consol Energy Center Thursday.
