The Penguins nipped their losing streak at two games by beating the New York Rangers, 2-1, in a shootout tonight at Consol Energy Center.

The Penguins have not lost three in a row this season.

New Penguin Jussi Jokinen was the only player to score for the team in the shootout.

There was no scoring until 30 seconds into the third period. That's when Jokinen, playing in his first game with the Penguins, scored from the left circle off of a feed from Chris Kunitz to make it 1-0.

Jokinen was acquired Wednesday from Carolina in an NHL trade deadline day deal.

Rick Nash tied it, 1-1, with a goal off of a faceoff at 15:11 of the third period.

The Penguins' next game is Tuesday at Carolina.
