The Penguins have acquired defenseman Douglas Murray from San Jose in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2013 draft and a conditional in the 2014 draft.

It is the team's second trade in as many days after the Penguins got winger Brenden Morrow from Dallas on Sunday.

Murray, 33, is 6 feet 4, 245 pounds. He has no goals, three assists in 29 games for the Sharks this season.

Penguins coach Dan Bylsma called Murray a "physical, rugged, stay-at-home defensive defenseman. ... This guy is big and strong, tough down low.
