Q: Will it be Evgeni Malkin and Petr Sykora with Sidney Crosby? How about the second line?

Randy Bigourdin, Winnipeg

MOLINARI: Coach Michel Therrien's plan, at least for now, is to play Malkin and Jordan Staal, both of whom got some work on the wing last season, in their natural position of center. If that holds, Malkin and Crosby aren't likely to play together at even-strength unless there are extenuating circumstances, like if the Penguins are desperate for a goal or to alter the momentum of a game.

Crosby's wingers for yesterday's scrimmage were Mark Recchi and Petr Sykora, just as they have been since camp opened. The other line combinations and defense pairings during yesterday's scrimmage:

Gary Roberts-Malkin-Erik Christensen.

Ryan Malone-Stall-Colby Armstrong.

Jarkko Ruutu-Tim Brent-Georges Laraque.

Angelo Esposito-Maxime Talbot-Adam Hall.

Ryan Stone-Nathan Smith-Jonathan Filewich.

Tim Wallace-Dustin Jeffrey-Tyler Kennedy.

Connor James-Jeff Taffe-Aaron Boogaard. (Boorgaard was one of 10 players assigned to the Penguins' farm team in Wilkes-Barre after the workout.)

Darryl Sydor-Sergei Gonchar.

Brooks Orpik-Ryan Whitney.

Mark Eaton-Kristopher Letang.

Alain Nasreddine-Mike Weaver.

Rob Scuderi-Joe Rullier.

Alex Goligoski-Ben Lovejoy.

Q: Is there any chance the Penguins will televise preseason games? If not, will they be available on the radio or the Internet?

Seth Wano, Pittsburgh

MOLINARI: None of their six exhibition games will be televised locally, and there will not be any radio for the four on the road. However, the Penguins' exhibition game against Buffalo at Mellon Arena Sept. 28 is scheduled to be on the radio, and there is expected to be video streaming via the team's website for that game and one against Detroit Saturday at Mellon Arena. Also, radio analyst Phil Bourque is scheduled to file period-by-period dispatches for the team's website from the road games, beginning with tonight's against Montreal at the Bell Centre.
