Joseph Ngwenya and Danny Earls scored goals in the first half after an early deficit as the Riverhounds held off LA Galaxy II, 3-1, in rainy USL Pro soccer action at Highmark Stadium in Station Square.
The Galaxy took a 1-0 in the 18th minute but Ngwenya scored in the 30th and Earls added one 9 minutes later.
Kevin Kerr came up with a goal in the 78th to secure the victory, which keeps the Riverhounds (6-11-5) in the running for a postseason berth. The Riverhounds are in 12th place but only 3 points out of the eighth and final playoff spot. The Riverhounds outshot the Galaxy, 11-8.
