Beaver scores big Class AA victory

In a battle of unbeatens, Beaver edged visiting Beaver Falls, 34-28, Saturday night in a key Class AA Midwestern Conference game.

Darian Bradley's 26-yard run with 1:26 left capped a lengthy drive for the Bobcats (4-0, 3-0).

Alex Rowse sealed the victory when he intercepted a pass on the ensuing possession by the Tigers, who fell to 3-1 overall and in conference.

Bradley rushed for 181 yards and scored four touchdowns, including a 50-yard run in the third quarter.

Other games

• Ambridge 41, Moon 17: Stephen McGinnis rushed for 101 yards and scored two touchdowns for the Bridgers. Nick Santiago also rushed for 100 yards and passed for 152 yards to lead Ambridge (2-2, 2-1) to an impressive home victory against the Tigers (1-3, 1-3) in the Class AAA Parkway Conference. McGinnis caught a 48-yard touchdown pass from Santiago.

• South Fayette 56, Burgettstown 6: South Fayette (4-0, 4-0) easily won at Burgettstown in the Century Conference. Class AA No. 2 South Fayette led, 49-0, at halftime. Sophomore Brett Brumbaugh completed 7 of 11 passes for 181 yards and three touchdowns, all in the first half. Zach Challingsworth caught two touchdown passes, covering 18 and 37 yards. Challingsworth also returned an interception 37 yards for a touchdown. The Lions have outscored opponents, 201-12, this season. South Fayette has a Century Conference showdown Friday against fourth-ranked Seton-LaSalle (4-0) at Baldwin. Luke Brumbaugh, Brett's older brother, is the starting quarterback at Seton-LaSalle.

• North Catholic 16, Riverview 0: The Trojans (3-1, 3-1) claimed a shutout victory at winless Riverview (0-4, 0-4) in the Class A Eastern Conference. P.J. Fulmore led North Catholic with 150 yards rushing and two touchdowns. North Catholic outgained Riverview, 343-135.

• Kittanning 28, Summitt Academy 0: The Wildcats (2-2, 2-1) earned a win in the Class AA Allegheny Conference with a dominating effort at Summitt Academy (0-3, 1-3). Kevin Barnes passed for 135 yards and two touchdowns to lead Kittanning. Mitch Pirhalla caught an 18-yard scoring pass in the first with Logan Slagle catching another for 6 yards in the third. Barnes also rushed for a 20-yard touchdown.
