WPIAL Class AAA: Central Valley wins, remains atop Parkway

Hopewell senior Rushel Shell rushed for 264 yards and a touchdown, but it wasn't enough to lead the visiting Vikings to a victory in a Parkway Conference showdown Friday against Central Valley.

The Warriors (7-0, 5-0), ranked No. 1 in the WPIAL in Class AAA, remained unbeaten with a 34-23 victory against the Vikings (4-3, 2-3). Curtis Lewis threw for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead the Warriors.

Central Valley scored two defensive touchdowns, on an 85-yard interception return by Jordan Whitehead and a 10-yard fumble return by Matt Bradford.

Dane Brown rushed for 202 yards on nine carries and scored three touchdowns to lead the No. 2 ranked Panthers (7-0, 5-0) to a dominating Keystone Conference road victory against the Mustangs (2-5, 1-4). Brown scored on runs of 76, 86, and 1 yard. Brown has 1,256 yards for the season. Panthers quarterback Charan Singh threw for one touchdown and ran for another.

Knoch 70, Kittanning 14

Andrew Rumberg-Goodwin rushed for 231 yards on only nine carries and scored five touchdowns, as the No. 3 Knights (7-0, 4-0) rolled to a Greater Allegheny Conference victory against the visiting Wildcats (1-6, 1-3). Rumberg-Goodwin scored on runs of 40, 4, 53, 53, and 52 yards. Mac Megahan scored twice for the Knights.

West Allegheny 24, New Castle 21

Dylan Bongiorni connected with Zech Medved on a 5-yard touchdown pass with 2:37 left to provide the winning points in a Parkway Conference road win for the Indians (5-2, 4-1) against the Hurricanes (4-3, 3-2). Bongiorni completed 7 of 8 passes for 97 yards. New Castle's John Matarazzo threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns.

Thomas Jefferson 28, Trinity 7

Dom Presto threw for one touchdown and ran for another, as the No. 4 Jaguars (5-2, 5-0) remained unbeaten in the Big Eight Conference with a road win against the Hillers (3-4, 2-3). Presto completed 6 of 12 passes for 184 yards and connected with Zach Schademan on a 50-yard scoring pass. He also scored on a 13-yard run.

Greensburg Salem 62, Hollidaysburg 6

Tyler Shook and Michael Kizzie combined to rush for 382 yards and six touchdowns, as Greensburg Salem (6-1, 4-1) rolled to a Keystone Conference victory against the visiting Golden Tigers (2-4, 2-3). Shook rushed for 217 yards and three scores. Kizzie contributed 165 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Montour 42, Blackhawk 9

Dillon Buechel completed 13 of 15 passes for 249 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Spartans (5-2, 3-2) to a convincing win against the visiting Cougars (5-2, 3-2) in the Parkway Conference. Buechel connected with Darren Massey on scoring passes of 26, 13, and 70 yards. Massey had 136 yards on 8 catches.

West Mifflin 27, Belle Vernon 0

Shamar Greene rushed for 100 yards on 27 carries and scored on runs of 6 and 20 yards, as the Titans (6-1, 4-1) blanked the Leopards (3-4, 3-2) in the Big Eight Conference.

Chartiers Valley 41, McGuffey 6

A.J. Mazzarini, Juliano Coury and Michael Boulos combined to rush for 309 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries to lead the Colts (5-2, 4-1) to a convincing road win against the winless Highlanders (0-7, 0-5) in the Big Eight Conference. All three eclipsed the 100-yard mark.

South Park 14, Elizabeth Forward 6

Nick Yobbi threw for one touchdown and ran for another to lead the Eagles (2-5, 2-3) to a Big Eight Conference win against the Warriors (1-6, 0-5). Yobbi threw for 127 yards and connected with Stefan Isbell on a 49-yard scoring pass.

Ringgold 44, Derry 7

Demetrius Louis scord on runs of 12 and 7 yards and Quad Law added an 85-yard touchdown run, as the Rams (6-1, 5-0) remained unbeaten in the Keystone Conference with a road victory against the Trojans (2-5, 2-3).

Indiana 19, Hampton 13

Logan Weaver scored on a 27-yard run in the fourth quarter to provide the deciding points for the Little Indians (6-1, 4-1) in this Greater Allegheny Conference victory against the Talbots (2-5, 1-3).

Moon 35, Ambridge 32

Anthony Colaianni rushed for 246 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the Tigers (2-5, 1-4) to a Parkway Conference win against the visiting Bridgers (1-6, 0-5).

Mars 42, Butler 10

Owen Nearhoof completed 9 of 10 passes for 105 yards and one touchdown to lead the Planets (5-2) to a non-conference win against the Golden Tornadoes (2-5).

Uniontown 19, Albert Gallatin 14

The Red Raiders (1-6, 1-4) posted a Keystone Conference win against the Colonials (0-7, 0-5).
