Shaler blew a four-run lead in the top of the seventh Monday, only to stage its own comeback in the bottom half of the inning.
Justin Defide scored his third run of the game on a walkoff single by Pat Carlson as Shaler (7-4) knocked off Class AAAA No. 3 North Allegheny (8-5), 10-9, in non-section.
The Titans led 8-4 entering the final inning, but the Tigers' bats came alive.
Dan Trettel hit a two-run double with one out in the seventh to get the Tigers within two runs. Two batters later, Chris Vrana hit a two-out, two-run double to tie the score, 8-8. Then Jake Fischbaugh singled home Vrana to give North Allegheny its first lead of the game.
But the Titans came back in the bottom half of the inning. With the bases loaded and one out, Jimmy Hughes executed a safety squeeze and the Tigers didn't get anyone out as John Bender scored to tie it, 9-9. That set the table for Carlson, who notched his third hit of the game to win it for Shaler.
North Allegheny lost later Monday to Hampton, 6-1.
