Senior Players is moving from Fox Chapel Country Club

Champions Tour major might return after 2016 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club.

The Constellation Senior Players Championship found a new home for 2015 after its three-year run at the Fox Chapel Golf Club ends next month. The tournament will move to Belmont Country Club in Boston next year with the possibility it could return to Fox Chapel in 2017, said Jay Monahan, deputy commissioner of the PGA Tour.

The Champions Tour is moving the event from Fox Chapel after the June 26-29 event because they don’t want to compete for corporate sponsorship with the 2016 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club.

“We can’t stress enough, Pittsburgh has been a fantastic host,” Monahan said. “The players have loved playing Fox Chapel Golf Club.”
