Top seeds: 1. Saint Louis; 2. VCU; 3. George Washington. 4. Saint Joseph's

Duquesne’s path: The 10th-seeded Dukes are 3-3 in their past six games, and the three losses went down to the wire. The last team to really spank them? Richmond, 75-58, Feb. 12. As Duquesne surged, the Spiders lost their final four regular-season games. Waiting for the winner in the quarterfinals is No. 2 seed VCU, who beat the Dukes by 15 in January. No. 3 seed George Washington is the likely opponent for the semifinal Saturday.

Overview: Saint Louis enters as the favorite, but the Billikens went into a tailspin after Duquesne knocked them off Feb. 27 to snap Saint Louis’ 19-game winning streak. The Billikens lost their next two games against VCU and Dayton before outlasting Massachusetts, 64-62, in the regular-season finale. Keep an eye out for VCU, which finished the regular season on a four-game winning streak. The Rams are 5-2 against teams on their side of the bracket.
