In one fell tweet, Deslin Alexandre de-committed from North Carolina State and gave Pitt its third commitment in the last two days.
Alexandre, a three-star defensive end from Deerfield Beach, Fla., announced his decision Friday night on Twitter.
A 6-foot-5, 230-pound product of Deerfield Beach High School, Alexandre is Pitt's 18th recruit in the 2017 class but first at defensive end, a spot that will lose plenty of production when all-ACC senior Ejuan Price departs after the season.
Like the two players who made their pledges to Pitt a day earlier — graduate transfer quarterback Max Browne and Palm Beach Gardens High School offensive lineman Jerry Drake Jr. — Alexandre plans to enroll for the spring semester. That meant his decision to flip from one ACC program to another had to come quickly, and the Wolfpack's loss was the Panthers' gain.
