Pitt landed its ninth verbal commitment of the 2017 recruiting class today when Florida linebacker Albert Tucker gave his pledge to the Panthers.
Tucker, a three-star prospect out of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., chose Pitt over offers from Colorado, Colorado State, Kentucky and Middle Tennessee State.
He is listed at 6-foot-1, 181 pounds, and likely projects as an outside linebacker in Pitt's defense.
Linebacker has been a priority for the Panthers during this recruiting cycle, and Tucker is already the third in this class, joining Kyle Nunn (Findlay, Ohio) and Cameron Bright (Montgomery, Ala.).
Recruits in the 2017 class can officially sign their National Letters of Intent on Feb. 1.
