Pitt's Tyler Boyd tapped as Biletnikoff Award candidate

Pitt receiver Tyler Boyd was named today to the watch list for the 2014 Biletnikoff Award, given annually to the best receiver in college football.

Boyd, a sophomore, caught 85 passes for 1,174 yards — both Pitt freshman records — and seven touchdowns in his first college season last year. He was one of only five sophomores to make the 55-member watch lists.

Pitt has two former Biletnikoff Award winners: Antonio Bryant won it in 2000 and Larry Fitzgerald took home the award in 2003.
