Pitt secures commitment from Quaker Valley football player

Quaker Valley athlete Dane Jackson verbally committed to the University of Pittsburgh football team today.

Jackson is the 10th member of the Panthers' 2015 recruiting class, and fourth WPIAL product.

He plays quarterback for Quaker Valley, but will likely play defensive back or possibly receiver for Pitt.

"I think [Pitt has] good coaching and [is getting] a lot better recruiting," Jackson said earlier this month after he took part in one of Pitt's prospect camps.

"Last year they had a pretty good season, won a bowl game, but I think they got a lot better as a team."

Jackson chose the Panthers over offers from Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan.
