Pitt picked up a recruit from the WPIAL class of 2015.

Alex Paulina, a 6-foot-4, 280-pound junior offensive lineman at Canon-McMillan High School, made a verbal commitment Saturday to Pitt.

Paulina has been a starter since his freshman year when he made all-conference. He only played a few games as a junior because of a concussion.

"He has a good frame, he's a good kid from a good family," Canon-McMillan coach Ron Coder said. "If he is able to respond this year and play a whole year, and dominate like he should, then I would say he could do a lot of things for Pitt."

More recruiting

Knoch senior lineman Connor Shinsky (6-5, 255) made a verbal commitment to Kent State. Shinsky was a first-team all-Greater Allegheny Conference selection.
