Pitt pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in school history Saturday night. The Panthers erased an 18-point second-half deficit to beat Oakland University, 72-62, at the Petersen Events Center.

James Robinson tied the score with two foul shots with 10 seconds remaining after he stole an Oakland inbounds pass and was fouled.

The Panthers took the lead on their first possession of overtime and never looked back.

Pitt (4-0) was led by J.J. Moore's 16 points. Robinson had 14 and Dante Taylor 10.

Oakland led by 14 at halftime and built that lead to 18 with 11:35 remaining.

Pitt cut the lead to two on a Taylor basket with 28 seconds remaining. Oakland committed an offensive foul on the ensuing inbounds play and got the ball with 28 seconds on the clock. Robinson attempted to drive to the hoop, but he was called for traveling with 14.7 seconds left.

The score was tied 9-9 after the first seven minutes, but Oakland outscored the Panthers 25-11 over the final 12:24 to take a 34-20 halftime lead.

The Panthers were plagued by foul trouble in the first half. Steven Adams picked up two early fouls and only played five minutes. Robinson also picked up two fouls and played just 14 minutes.

Without their top two defenders, the Panthers were not able to deal with Oakland's quickness on the perimeter or its beef inside.

Duke Mondy and Corey Petros each had nine points as the Golden Grizzlies shot 59 percent. The Panthers, meanwhile, shot 31 percent and only had eight baskets.
