A source close to the Penn State football program said today that starting defensive end Maurice Evans and starting defensive tackle Abe Koroma are not expected to play against Syracuse at the Carrier Dome Saturday.

Both players remain suspended from the team and did not practice Tuesday.

The source said the playing status of the both players is undecided and isn't like to change this week, barring a late-week decision by the university's Office of Judicial Affairs.

Evans and Koroma were suspended from Saturday's game against Oregon State by coach Joe Paterno due to their alleged roles in an incident last week at the Nittany Apartments in which a small amount of marijuana was seized.

The investigation is continuing and no one has been charged.

Evans and Koroma were not listed on the depth chart released Tuesday by the school. Aaron Maybin is listed as the starter at left end, replacing Evans, and Jared Odrick as the starter at left tackle, taking over for Koroma.
