The newly formed LaMarr Woodley Foundation held its first gala Wednesday night. The event, which drew 300 guests to the Fairmont Pittsburgh to benefit PACT (Prevent Another Crime Today), included actor Ving Rhames. Valerie Dixon, founder of PACT, gave a very moving presentation. Her son was killed in a senseless act of violence. Pittsburgh Steeler LaMarr Woodley presented her with a $30,000 check for PACT. A portrait of Mr. Woodley that was painted on site was auctioned for $2,000. Supporters included Mike Tomlin, Ike Taylor, Charlie Batch and Lawrence Timmons.
