Management of Iron Mountain's Boyers compound is in the hands of Tom Roth, 49, of Pine, who has been running the show since November 1998.
As general manager, he oversees everything -- marketing and maintenance, staffing and refurbishment. An office redo is in the works now.
"It's a great job," Roth said in his modest office 200 feet underground.
Before working for Iron Mountain, Roth was vice president of customer development for Pittsburgh-based GENCO Distribution Systems. He headed the functional and technical sales of its warehouse management system starting in October 1997. Before that, he was senior vice president of Alpha & Omega in Pittsburgh, which installed and supported warehouse management systems for Fortune 1000 companies. This company was bought by GENCO.
Roth also was the founder and president of a distribution consulting firm in Pittsburgh (Expert Logistics); worked for GSI Business Management in Pittsburgh, Pioneer Standard Electronics in Cleveland and Federated Department Stores (Rikes Division) in Dayton, Ohio.
He attended Sinclair College in Dayton, where he was born and raised.
He and his wife, Parker, have a grown son, Kevin.
