This chart shows the one-year trend in the presence and use of computers in schools in Pennsylvania and the United States.
*An instructional multimedia computer is any computer with a sound card and CD-ROM drive that is used for student instruction. Current averages for all instructional computers are lower, 5.5 in Pennsylvania and 5.7 in the U.S. Some averages are based on incomplete national data.
** Technology training question in 1998 asked how many hours were offered; in 1999 it asked how many formal hours were received.
