Groundhog, make way for the Easter Bunny.

Today's weather should be sunny and pleasant, with a high of 53.

"It's beautiful outside," said John Darnley, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. "It's going to be a beautiful Saturday."

While the temperature for Easter tomorrow should still be in the mid 50s, rain will return in the morning, with about a quarter inch of accumulation. Weekend high temperatures are close to the normal high for this time of year of 56 degrees.

Monday, April is expected to come in like a lion, with the high temperature dropping back to the mid-30s for Monday through Thursday.

The upside: there's little chance of snow.

This March has been unusually cold and wet, said Mr. Darnley, with only three days so far without precipitation. The average high of 35 degrees is 3.8 degrees below normal, he said.

It might feel particularly brutal contrasted with last year's March, he said, which featured an average temperature of 51 degrees and a 10-day stretch over 70 degrees or warmer -- including two 80 degree days.
