Wildlife baby shower
“The babies are coming,” according to the news release announcing the 17th annual Wildlife Baby Shower for the Verona wildlife rehabilitation center of the Animal Rescue League/Western PA Humane Society.
You don’t even have to show up for the fundraiser March 18, noon to 4 p.m. Just drop off your gifts at eight locations.
The babies need Cheerios, raisins, canned peaches and pears, frozen vegetables, eggs and unsalted nuts — walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, chestnuts, pecans and peanuts. Cash donations will be used to buy freeze-dried meal worms, blood worms and KMR Powder kitten formula.
Also on the wish list are paper towels, toilet paper, towels, hand soap, white copy paper, and gift cards to grocery and pet stores.
Go to www.animalrescue.org to see the complete list of needs. At the bottom of the home page is a link to more information.
Here are the drop-off spots for donations: Galleria of Mt. Lebanon, 1500 Washington Road; Journeys of Life, 810 Bellefonte St., Shadyside; AE Noble & Associates, 6149 Saltsburg Road, Verona; Penn Hills Lawn and Garden, 200 Jefferson Road; REI, 412 S. 27th St., South Side; and Wild Birds Unlimited at 1775 N.
