TORONTO -- The Penguins claimed center Cal O'Reilly off re-entry waivers from Phoenix today.
O'Reilly, 25, He has a salary-cap hit (and salary) of $1,050,000, of which the Penguins will pay a pro-rated share.
Also, the Penguins' share will be only half of the usual amount because he was on re-entry waivers.
O'Reilly is a finesse center who has two goals and four assists in 27 games with Nashville and the Coyotes this season.
He has 13 goals and 27 assists in 107 NHL games in his career.
It was not immediately known if O'Reilly will join the Penguins in time for their game in Toronto, his hometown, tonight.
